Performance improvements for the page builder

New features

Over the last couple of weeks, we've made updates to Makeswift that improve the speed and performance of the page builder. You'll experience the first improvement just by opening the builder from any page's settings. Previously, we found it could sometimes take 9 seconds to open the page builder as well as return to the page settings. 9 seconds! Now it takes about 1-2 seconds to do either.

Before

~9s

to open page builder

Now

1-2s

to open page builder

Lastly, these updates make the page editing experience much smoother and snappier. These enhancements are even more noticeable when working on larger pages. Improving performance in the app as well as live pages is an ongoing goal of ours, so expect more progress in the future.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where uploaded SVG files weren't displaying a thumbnail in the files view/picker
  • Thumbnails for images with smaller dimensions were being scaled up, appearing blurry. Now the thumbnail will retain the original image dimensions.

Go ahead and build.
